Allen City Council Approves Purchase of Locally Manufactured Video Policing System.

June 28, 2017 (ALLEN, Texas) — On Tuesday, June 27th, the Allen City Council approved the police department’s request to purchase 4RE® In-Car Video Systems and VISTA WiFi® Body Cameras from Allen-based manufacturer, WatchGuard Video.   WatchGuard, a technology pioneer, is the world’s leading provider of in-car video systems for law enforcement.

When deployed together, the VISTA WiFi Body Cameras and the 4RE In-Car Video Systems work seamlessly as a single system, capturing synchronized video of an incident from multiple vantage points, thereby increasing the strength of the video evidence. Both products feature WatchGuard’s patent-pending Record After the Fact® technology, which ensures no incident is missed. The technology allows agencies to go “back in time” to capture critical video, even when the officer does not have time to press the record button.

“We are proud to have this opportunity to support a fast-growing local business like WatchGuard,” said Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey. “VISTA Body Worn Cameras and 4RE In-Car video will enhance police operations and our service to the Allen community.”

WatchGuard’s worldwide headquarters has been located in Allen since 2005. In February of this year, the company broke ground on a new $47 million, 200,000 square foot facility in Allen that will include over 43,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

“It’s a pleasure to be working and growing within our community,” said Steve Coffman, President of WatchGuard Video. “Allen’s decision to utilize the best WatchGuard has to offer will benefit us all.”
