One of the WatchGuard DV-1′s most notable features is its ability to record video in the DVD-Video format directly in the vehicle complete with navigable chapter menus and thumbnail images. Absolutely no additional equipment is required between the DV-1 and a regular DVD player or computer with a DVD drive. It is also the only product in the industry that can accomplish this task in a moving vehicle in real-time.
The DV-1 buffers video to an integrated hard drive providing both redundancy and revolutionary features previously unavailable in the industry. This rugged, automotive-grade hard drive maintains flawless operation in punishing climates while withstanding extreme amounts of shock and vibration.
Traffic stops are automatically divided into selectable chapters similar to a Hollywood movie. The DV-1 automatically creates a chapter navigation menu to select video chapters on a DVD player or a computer.
A powerful feature which takes you back in time, up to several days, to recover video that was background recorded to the hard drive. Allows retrieval of events not previously recorded to the DVD.
While recording, if a DVD fills to capacity, the system automatically stores overflow video on the integrated hard drive until a new DVD is inserted.
Up to the last 6 DVDs are automatically backed up on the hard drive. Should a DVD be lost, damaged or destroyed, a supervisor can make an identical copy of the entire missing DVD.
The DV-1 can record video from any two cameras simultaneously on one screen. Choose from the Front, Cabin, or Rear Deck (optional) cameras to display and record on screen together. In addition, you can switch between cameras, “on-the-fly,” while recording.
The DV-1 can playback previously recorded video while simultaneously recording new video.
The system features an intuitive, easy to use, on-screen interface that controls the functions of the DV-1.
A sophisticated spring-loaded, silicone oil-dampened suspension system isolates the DVD drive from shock and vibration. The system never skips. No video is ever lost.
