Job Title: Senior Software Test Engineer
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth
Department: Engineering
Reporting To: Engineering Manager


WatchGuard Video develops, markets, and maintains custom hardware and Windows software applications to enable its mobile digital video recorder product line. Challenges include testing database, video file storage and conversion, video-on-demand streaming, enterprise class – network-enabled client/server applications, embedded software/firmware, and new user interfaces including Web enabled clients.
This candidate will define and execute functional, performance, load, compatibility, and user acceptance tests against a variety of products and components for the Windows desktop, Windows server, and embedded software environments as an individual and team contributor. Candidate will analyze requirements to determine feasibility of testing/validation within time and cost constraints.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, modify and execute test plans using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design elements
  • Creates test/validation requirement definition/documentation
  • Accurately scopes tasks and implements them in accordance with the scoping plan

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline

Professional Skills

  • Demonstrated ability in solving problems as part of a team or individually
  • Demonstrated ability in testing/validating complex systems and software designs

Experience Requirements

  • Five (5) years of demonstrated proficiency
  • Experience with automated test tools a plus
  • Shell scripting experience strongly desired
